Already November

Wow! November is fast approaching the halfway mark. Is it me, or does it seem that the time continuum has increased in speed? Did I not just see my youngest son graduate high school? Did I just not recently take a staycation with hubby? Or was that August? Now, we're talking about getting ready for Christmas. Me thinks we are not stopping to smell the coffee!

November has not been an easy month for me since 1979. My dad passed away on the 19th that year; eight years later, my mother died on the 4th, and in 1995, on the 23rd, I received one of the worst phone calls of my life. My Godmother, who I loved as much as my parents was killed in a traffic accident. For the longest time, whenever November rolled around, I got nervous! Always afraid to get hit at the knees; but with time, I started thinking again that November is just another month, although the one closest to the end of the year.

It's time to plan for December; clean the house to make room for the Christmas tree, decorations across the house; shop a bit here and there for gifts; make the list for food, outings, charity, which I do all year long, and remember that we are all children of God, and to love each other and be thankful for what we have.
